WiNGroup wins Best Demo Award at IEEE DySPAN 2015 conference

The Wireless Networking Group (WiNGroup) from the Saints Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje attended and successfully participated at the most eminent dynamic spectrum access conference, the IEEE DySPAN 2015. Their demo implementation “REM-facilitated Smart WiFi” won the prestigious Best Demo Award at the conference in strong competition with ten demos from distinguished worldwide research institutions and companies. The demo implementation, which used the Radio Environmental Maps (REM) in intelligent radio resource management of WiFi networks, drew significant attention from the participants and was denoted as the most practical and remarkable demo at the conference. The detailed work is part of the NATO SfP project ORCA, which stands for Optimization and Rational use of wireless Communication bAnds.

WinGroup with the Best Demo Award

The IEEE DySPAN 2015 conference was held in Stockholm, Sweden, from the 29th September to the 2nd October.

This is second time that the WinGroup team has won the Best Demo Award at the IEEE DySPAN conference, after the DySPAN 2011 conference held in Aachen, Germany.

Congratulations on their achievement has been received by Mr. Michael Switkes, from the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme, as a very pleasing and useful achievement for the whole NATO SPSP programme.
